ACAC championships to be hosted by Lethbridge College
The Lethbridge College Kodiaks will be hosting the upcoming Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference championships for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
The competitions are for cross-country and women’s volleyball.
On October 28th, a total of 10 teams will head to Nicholas Sheran Park for the cross-country event.
Simon Schaerz, the head coach of the Kodiaks for the cross-country running and indoor track program told us what it will take to win.
“Preparation and luck. I think that’s probably the best way to put it, preparation starting now. And so the athletes are away, of course, for the summer, but they’re actively training. They have their training programs. They may be training with a club back home. We certainly send out our workouts. And so the expectation is that they maintain and build their fitness over the summer. Once they start in September, once they’re back on campus, of course, we’re going to get right into it. Lots of training, lots of prep work, competing in advance, of course, in our Grand Prix series.”
Next year, the Kodiaks will host the ACAC women’s volleyball championships at the college’s Val Matteotti Gymnasium from February 21 to the 24th.
