City of Lethbridge adjusting snow clearing practices ahead of winter

With winter just around the corner, the City of Lethbridge is implementing Phase One of their snow and ice control changes. With the council’s support and after receiving feedback from the community, the city says changes will be taking place with various snow routes this year. The Transportation Operations Manager with the city explains what some of the changes will look like.

“We’ll increase plowing along designated areas approximately 25 kilometres. And starting today we will inform residents that live around the snow routes with postcard drop offs. And we will also have some snow routes that are not affected by this new change and those people will get letters dropped off at their houses. We have some areas in the north, south and west. The best is probably for everybody to look online where we have some maps available. We also have digital mapping tool where you can type in your address and find out if you’re impacted or not,” said Julianne Ruck, Transpiration and Operations Manager with the City of Lethbridge.

City officials say parking restrictions will also be in effect in some areas during snowy days.
