Brent Feyter running for Fort Macleod mayor’s seat

Brent Feyter recently announced he will be seeking re-election for the mayoral chair in Fort Macleod. Feyter says there have been many highlights for him as mayor for the last four years. He lists the completion of a new town office, swimming pool, and upgrading town facilities as accomplishments. Feyter says if elected again, he will continue to work on building strong relationships in the community to help improve the town’s image.

“There’s more infrastructure projects that are on the horizon that we’d like to see continue. Including Stage 1A of a rerouting project on the east side of town. There’s interest in our community that we’d like to see continued as well. Having that continuation from our current council to a new council is important. We work well together, and we’re looking forward to continuing that together.”

Feyter was first elected as a councillor in 2013, and was then chosen to be the mayor of the town in 2017.

The town implemented a business tax incentive just under two years ago, and Feyter cites that as another accomplishment.

As of Tuesday, Feyter is the only candidate who is running for mayor in Fort Macleod.

The municipal election will take place on October 18th.
