LPS to host fraud prevention events in March

March is coming, and with-it Fraud Prevention Month — a reminder that protecting ourselves from fraud is something we should practice year-round. To mark the month, the Lethbridge Police Service or LPS will host three community events aimed at helping residents recognize, prevent, and report fraud. Sergeant Kevin Talbot with the LPS, Economic Crimes Unit, says the sessions will provide practical information on current scams, warning signs to watch for, and steps to take if you or someone you know becomes a victim.

The first Fraud Prevention Presentation will be held on March 5 at Lethbridge Senior Citizens’ Organization. The second event will take place on March 10 at Nordbridge Senior Centre, and the third event will be held on March 25 at the YMCA
