Streets Alive keeping street people safe in the heat
Dealing with the heat can be a challenge for many people … but imagine not having access water or a place cool down. Streets Alive Mission says this is the situation facing the unhoused population and with near record temperatures there is real danger for of dehydration and heat exhaustion for those outside in the heat. Chief Development Officer Jennifer Lepko says the Mission is actively seeking out those who might need help. Lepko says one the best ways to support organizations like Streets Alive during a heat wave is by contributing to a water drive currently underway. The Interfaith Food Bank and Lethbridge Food Bank are collecting donations of cash or water and then distributed to the water to community organization to distribute those in need.
