2022 Southern Alberta Summer Games ready for July

Cities from across our province are set to host the 2022 Southern Alberta Summer Games. The event will also be held in Lethbridge, with a variety of sports to choose from. Anyone can register online and staff from the Lethbridge Sport Council say the games are important for our entire community.

“Instead of the traditional games events, we were able to host things that we wouldn’t normally host. This year there’s going to be the badminton, golf, climbing, horseshoes, Indigenous games and sports photography. Some of those are events that you would traditionally see at a Southern Alberta Summer Games. But some of them aren’t, and we’ve never been able to offer them before. We thought it would be a great opportunity to offer those to not only the people participating, but also the organizations to host,” said the Communication Manager for the Lethbridge Sport Council, Tanya Whipple.

The games are taking place in July and registrants will play for the chance to win medals in all of the events.
