Will by-election losses lead to Trudeau resigning?
Two big by-elections were held on Monday night. In the Winnipeg riding of Elmwood-Transcona the NDP took it with Leila Dance narrowly defeating the Conservative candidate, Colin Reynolds. In the LaSalle, Emard-Verdun riding in Quebec the Bloc’s Louis Phillippe Sauve edged out the Liberal candidate Laura Palestini. The Montreal riding was former Liberal Justice Minister David Lametti’s who walked away from public life. The Montreal riding was the second Liberal stronghold lost by the Trudeau government. The Liberals as you may recall also lost a Toronto area riding not long ago. What does all of this mean? Will Prime Minister Justin Trudeau step down now as party leader? BCN’s Hal Roberts posed that question to Sun political columnist Brian Lilley.
