Weekend temperatures expected to hit 17 degrees in Lethbridge

The polar vortex, which saw temperatures as low as -35 degrees celsius has ended and this weekend is expected to bring unseasonably warm temperatures as high as 17 degrees to Lethbridge.

“We’ve got westerly winds that’s bringing some dryer, warmer, air into the province,” says Environment Canada Meteorologist, Kyle Fougere “with forecast highs of 17 degrees this Friday, we are looking at about 13 degrees above normal for this time of year”.

Meteorologists say that these warm temperatures won’t be here for long, and the month of March will return to its average temperature of just above zero for southwestern Alberta.
