Warning issued over grizzly bear sighting at Milk River Natural Area

Alberta Parks has put out a warning over grizzly bear sightings in the Milk River Natural Area.

The sighting includes both the upland areas and the river valley. Alberta Parks says that encounters with bears can occur anytime and recommends people to be aware of their surroundings.

To avoid a surprise encounter, make plenty of noise and travel in groups, and secure attractants like food, garbage and other scented items. You can report bear sightings to 310-LAND (5263).

The Milk River Natural Area lies approximately 160 kilometres south of Lethbridge by the Canada-U.S. border.
