U of L student recipient of $10,000 scholarship

Nathan Crow, a major in Indigenous governance and business management at the University of Lethbridge’s Dhillon School of Business is the proud recipient of a $10,000 scholarship.

It is through Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the Year, Futures Fund Scholarship Program.

Crow told us what this means to him and how he is hoping to help pave the way for other Indigenous students at the U of L.

“Just because as an Indigenous person, proud Backfoot member of the Kainai First Nation, it’s really important for me to fill as many spaces within the western world and its institutions. Just like winning this Future Funds award. Just so that others can also feel a sense of belonging and acceptance within these various roles that are, I guess, prestigious and maybe weren’t traditionally meant for someone like myself.”

Crow and nine other recipients of the scholarship were flown to Toronto earlier in May where a special reception was held in their honour.
