Stuff the Bus looking for back-to-school supplies

It’s almost time to Stuff the Bus.

The annual campaign is back which aims to collect backpacks filled with new school supplies to help Lethbridge families who are in need of back-to-school items.

Last year the initiative gave out over 1400 backpacks at the event.

Jade Warf, the office manager with MyCityCare in Lethbridge says they are hoping to beat those numbers this year.

“This year we’re thinking that number is going to be a lot higher. So we’re preparing for 2,000 backpacks this year. Which is crazy, but yeah, we need help just collecting school supplies. We’re looking for just the main essential back-to-school supplies paper, pens, pencils, binders. We’re pretty good on backpacks, but everything else is still in high need. I just think if people are looking to register, they can find us on our Facebook page or our Instagram to register, and we are still looking for volunteers too, so they can connect with us at the office.”

If you’re looking to get involved with the Stuff the Bus initiative there will be events around the city taking place from August 22-24.
