Street Machine Weekend racing ahead for 2022 event

The bright colours and fantastic sounds of Street Machine Weekend are coming back to Lethbridge this weekend. The Street Wheelers Car Club was founded in 1976 and is in charge of putting on the biggest classic car show in southern Alberta. Daryl Herbers, has been a member of the car club for almost 43 years. He says you can expect to see a wide variety of unique vehicles at the Show and Shine on Sunday along with a truck of his own which has a superhero theme to it.

“When I ordered it it came in green. That kind of just went from there. It’s gone through many transformations in its life. I’ve had it brand new since 1976 and I’ve been the only owner of it. Luckily enough I still have it today and it’s a lot of fun. Some days you get more than 500 in a park downtown, but it’s always been a really good attended event. You’ll get anything from your average whatever you can see on the street that day, to your $1 million cars that will be out there for that day.”
