Saskatchewan government announces funding for WHL teams

The Saskatchewan government announced $600,000 of funding for each of the five WHL teams in the province.

Lethbridge Hurricanes general manager, Peter Anholt shared his reaction to the news. “We have a significant impact of our communities. We have have a direct relationship to revenues throughout the whole community, so when the hockey teams are hurting, it’s (really) indicative of how everybody is hurting,” he continues “we’re really pleased that the Saskatchewan government is helping out the Saskatchewan teams. I think it’s fantastic”.
