Reconciliation Week underway in Lethbridge

This is the official start of Truth and Reconciliation Week in Lethbridge. A ceremony was held on Monday morning at the Civic Centre Track featuring a special round dance. As BCN’s Micah Quinn explains, local dignitaries and Indigenous leaders took part in the event.

Traditional Indigenous drumming had participants stepping to the beat to kick off Reconciliation Week in Lethbridge.

This week is also about recognizing the survivors of residential schools and those who unfortunately did not make it home.

The Reconciliation Lethbridge Advisory Committee works together to bring forth important events like Reconciliation Week here in our city.
