Boots on the Ground launches in Alberta

More peer support services are now being offered to first responders in Alberta. Boots on the Ground, a confidential, 24 hour a day peer support hotline has officially launched in Alberta as of Monday morning. The organization offers support to responders like police officers, firefighters, paramedics and nurses.

“It’s a much needed resource. And we are super lucky that and honored that we get to serve those who serve. And all of us, all the volunteers at Boots on the Ground are first responders themselves. So this is an additional duty that they take on. And they want to keep providing the service to their brothers and sisters in service and help keep them safe. Help keep those safe who keep us safe.”

Around 2,400 calls have been made into Boots on the Ground since 2018.
