Parking changes coming to Lethbridge

If you are wanting to park in downtown Lethbridge, be prepared to pay a little more if you receive a parking fine. Parking coordinator, Phillip Berg, says certain things will not be costing you extra however. Adjustments to parking fines will begin on February first. They include: Fines within the downtown core will be $40, up from 25 dollars, with an early payment incentive reduction of $20 if paid within 10 days. Outside of the downtown core, parking fines will increase from $25 to fifty, with a $15 reduction if paid within 10 days. The changes are to be carried out as a two-year pilot project, with an update to Council after one year.
