NDP Leader Rachel Notley officially launched her campaign Monday. Notley’s NDP says the UCP’s backdoor measures, including hiking user fees and de-indexing personal income tax rates, have led to higher costs for families. Taking questions from the media today in Calgary, Notley discussed a wide range of issues including her handling of the economy when she was premier.
“What I’ve always said to many, many folks is that what we needed to do on a whole range of issues, including growing our economy, engaging with job creators and entrepreneurs throughout Calgary as well as throughout the province, is that we needed to be able to listen more and to engage more upfront. And the commitment that we have going forward. So that is exactly what they can count on from us.”
Notley adds, she remains committed to putting the priorities of Albertans first.
