New traffic safety campaign aims to change driver behaviour

A new campaign aimed at taking traffic safety to the next level is being launched by the City of Lethbridge.

Beginning this week, the City will start displaying traffic safety messages twice a week throughout the year.

The campaign will deliver timely reminders to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, with messages focused on seasonal risks ranging from summer construction to winter driving conditions. Qasim Muhammad, Traffic Safety Engineer with the City of Lethbridge, says the goal is to deliver the right message at the right time to encourage safer decisions on the road.

The campaign will focus on more than 30 different theme messages covering impaired driving, new drivers, back-to-school, and pedestrian safety.
