Marissa Black running for Lethbridge council, talks local entrepreneurs
The municipal election is coming up in October. We have already seen a number of candidates in Lethbridge come forward — Marissa Black is one of them. Black has a background in biology and agricultural research.
She says she’s passionate about bringing marginalized voices to the table, along with environmental issues. She also says it is a goal of hers to retain academics from Lethbridge College and the University of Lethbridge, in order to bring even more business to our community.
“People who are educated tend to know what the issues are, and also they’re going to bring more entrepreneurial spirit. That’s one thing I think is really important is trying to incentivize especially entrepreneurs to stay in Lethbridge,” adds Black “because those are going to be the kind of people creating jobs for those of use who live here”.
The municipal election will take place on October 18.
