Lethbridge Police investigating hit-and-run with scooter

UPDATE: Police have confirmed Tuesday morning that they have located the suspects vehicle thanks to information from the public. Police thank the public for their assistance and say the investigation is continuing.
ORIGINAL: Lethbridge Police are attempting to identify the driver responsible in a hit-and-run collision involving a man riding a scooter.
The collision happened on Saturday, where emergency crews attended the scene at the intersection of 5th Avenue South and 13th Street South just before 10am. Investigators determined that a 26-year-old man on a rental scooter was attempting to cross 13th Street westbound on 5th Avenue when he was struck by a northbound Pontiac Grand Am. The driver of the Pontiac initially stopped just to remove the scooter from the roadway and made no interaction with the victim before returning to his vehicle and driving away.
The driver is described as short, elderly, Caucasian male with grey hair and a hunched back. He was wearing a t-shirt and jeans. The Pontiac Grand Am is described to be an early 2000s model either in tan or grey. It has existing damage to the driver’s side rear bumper and new damage from the collision to the passenger-side front headlight area.
The victim was taken to hospital by EMS for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
