Lethbridge expected to welcome several Afghan refugees in the coming weeks

Following the traumatic exodus in Afghanistan, Canada was able to fly out roughly 4,000 Afghan refugees. Lethbridge Family Services is preparing to welcome many of those families to our city. LFS says they are not sure on the exact number or what day they’ll be arriving but they are expected to land in the city in the coming weeks.

Manager of Settlement Programs with LFS, Savanna Prociw, says the refugees will be put into temporary housing before finding a permanent home.

Lethbridge Family Services has received a number of inquiries from community members asking for ways they can help. If you can help, contact Lethbridge Family Services through their website.
