Lethbridge Council approves funding for 2026 Memorial Cup bid

Lethbridge City Council voted to provide 1.25-million-dollars in a bid to host the 2026 Memorial Cup. During the meeting it was also agreed to provide a letter of support to the Sport Tourism Advisory Committee. The sporting event will run for 10 days beginning at the end of May. The Memorial Cup is the Canadian Hockey League’s top prize, with the four-team tournament featuring league champions from the WHL, QMJHL, OHL along with the host team the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
