Historic Claresholm residence granted Provincial Historical Resource designation
A century-old residence in Claresholm has been granted a Provincial Historical Resource designation from the Alberta Government.
The Dr. McMillan Residence, built in 1916, served as a dual residence and medical office, accompanied by an operating room and one of the earliest x-ray machines in the region. The house was home to three doctors who stayed concurrently from 1916 to 1940.
The current owners, Britny & Rob Robertson purchased the residence in 2019 and have been renovating the house to maintain its historic roots, and plan to eventually retire in it.
Since November, there have been nearly 400 Provincial Historic Resource designations in the province. The Dr. McMillan Residence serves as the third designation in the town of Claresholm.
