Good mental health, a mark of well-being
Research suggests that good mental health is more than the absence of an illness, it is a positive consequence of well-being. Mark Slomp, Registered Psychologist and Executive Director of Student Services at the University of Lethbridge, says there are certain practices we can put into place which help create a strong sense of well-being. According to Canadian Mental Health Association by the age 40, about 50 per cent of the population will have or have had some form of mental illness.
