Full Interview: Maxime Bernier on Alberta’s October Referendum

Maxime Bernier was in Lethbridge this week speaking to Albertans during his cross-province tour promoting his party’s support in this October’s provincial referendum.

The leader of the People’s Party of Canada claims his national party is the only one that supports the prospect of a binding referendum on Alberta separating from the rest of Canada, so Albertans could use it for negotiation powers against the federal government. He adds for example that Alberta needs to take more control on their equalization, energy and immigration policies.

BCN’s Landon Hickok met up with Bernier on Tuesday to discuss this issue at length.
