CTF launches court challenge against Bank of Canada
The Bank of Canada will be facing a court challenge by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation to disclose details of their executive pay and compensation to senior officials.
Previously, the CTF filed an access-to-information request for documents showcasing pay information between 2012 and 2023 for top officials which includes salaries, bonuses and performance pay. Franco Terrazano with the Federation says the challenge comes after that request for further transparency was denied.
During his time as Governor of the Bank of England, Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed in 2013 his total remuneration was £800,000, or over $1,000,000 CAD.
