Crystal Springs Cheese wins big at cheese competition

A local cheese company won an international award in Montreal recently. Crystal Springs Cheese took home three awards for their fancy cheddar, goat feta, and asiago cheese in the International Cheese Competition. The cheese maker for the company, Jacco Beyer, was in disbelief when he heard the news and says this is great for future business for his company.

“It’s really great for us because you get to display the award symbol on your label. We started on that right away. Those three cheeses- we’re going to revamp our labels right away and slap that award right front and centre on there. Laying in a big sea in a deli case, sometimes there’s hundreds of cheeses. Anything that can have that little extra thing that sticks out to catch the consumers eyes is always a big help.”

Close to 150 cheeses were judged from 10 countries within 20 categories.
