CBC not allowing journos to call Hamas terrorists
A leaked memo of an email sent to journalists at the CBC says that neither reporters nor anchors are allowed to refer to Hamas as terrorists. Instead terms such as militants, soldiers or freedom fighters should be used. Hamas is listed as a terrorist organization not only with the Canadian government but also with the U.S., Britain, the EU, Japan and Australia. The fact that the CBC is telling their journalists that Hamas cannot be referred to as a terrorist group has upset many including Toronto Sun political columnist Brian Lilley. Mr. Lilley tells BCNs Hal Roberts that Hamas needs to be called what they truly are.
