AUPE members hold rally in front of Extendicare

Update: Extendicare got back to Bridge City News on October 7 at 9:30am. They sent us an email with the following statement.

“Extendicare is focused on the negotiations and continues to work diligently to achieve an agreement with our partners. We are grateful for the ongoing dedication of our team members, and value their hard work to provide care for those we serve.”

A large rally was held outside of Extendicare Fairmont Park in Lethbridge on Wednesday afternoon. As Micah Quinn reports, Extendicare workers who are members of the AUPE rallied in solidarity to protest cuts to workers’ benefits and retirement plans.
