Alberta to introduce legislation preventing municipalities from making direct deals with feds

We’ve recently seen the Prime Minister making a cross country campaign-like tour to announce extra funding for housing in certain municipalities. Just last week he visited Calgary. But there’s been some criticism that he’s stepping on the toes of issues that should be left up to provincial governments.  As a result Alberta will introduce legislation to prevent municipal governments from making direct deals with the federal government.  It’s got mayors like Calgary’s Jyoti Gondek not too happy about it.

Tyler Dawson who is the Alberta Correspondent for the National Post breaks it down with BCN’s Jeannette Rocher.
