Activities for Environment Week
Environment Week is well underway and Environment Lethbridge has been hosting events honouring the environment. This is the first year for these activities since 2019 due to the pandemic. Thursday will feature an event on local Indigenous plants and on Friday Blackfoot speakers will teach on how to learn from the land from their cultural perspective. Kathleen Sheppard, the Executive Director of the group says this is an important week for the community.
“I think from our perspective we really hope this is an opportunity for people to learn about the environment in a new way. Maybe to set a goal or two about something they can do. But, hopefully it’s a fun week for people to try some new things and learn some new things and just celebrate our environment.”
Environment Week festivities will wrap up with a Nature Play Day on June 12 at Henderson Lake at 12pm.
