Coaldale residents have a new Handi-Bus

Coaldale residents who use wheelchairs or walkers now rely on the new handi bus to get around town and also to get to medical appointments and shopping in Lethbridge. Tim Janzen, President with Coaldale & District Handi-Ride Association says the handi bus features an access ramp and winch system for safe and controlled entry, especially in winter conditions.

Janzen says that around 222 thousand dollars was the contribution given by various institutions to buy the handi bus.

Heidi was born in Bogota, Colombia and lived there until she was 18, then she moved to Caracas, Venezuela where she finished her bachelor's degree in journalism. Since 2010 she covered political issues related to the government of former president Hugo Chávez and his political opponents, management, death and transition to a new government. Heidi also has a diploma in Addictions and Community Health.
