AUPE monitoring Melcor

As Bridge City News reported early this week, Alberta Health Services’ public health teams are relocating from the Lethbridge Train Station to Melcor Centre. In the past there have been some concerns at this site including flooding, rodent infestation and mold.

The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees, which represents two to three hundred provincial workers located at the Melcor Centre, says it is continuing to monitor health and safety at the downtown Lethbridge office building.

Bridge City News also reached out to Melcor Developments who said it had no comment on the state of the Lethbridge site. A spokesperson for AHS says Melcor Centre is a safe place to work. According to AHS, the move to Melcor will consolidate all public health programs in one location and provide easy access to multidisciplinary healthcare teams and resources.
