Studying Alberta Provincial Police Force
The Alberta government announced a blueprint for a provincial police service that would add 275 frontline police officers to our province’s 42 detachments. Justice Minister, Tyler Shandro, says Alberta is still studying the potential of a provincial police force. He says it is sorely needed because the RCMP’s mandate is stretched far too thin.
