Two Lethbridge swimmers prepare for Special Olympics Canada Summer Games

In preparation of next week’s Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Medicine Hat, two athletes who compete from Lethbridge will represent Team Alberta in a variety of swimming competitions.

Alex McCulloch and Bryce Colyer are two of 130 athletes competing in swimming next week in Medicine Hat. They’ll take part in various freestyle, backstroke and relay competitions. The two train together with the Lethbridge Special Olympics club for multiple sessions a week in preparation.

The 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games take place August 11-15, with the potential of representing Canada next year in Santiago Chile.
