Legacy Lodge workers rally for ‘fair’ contract

Workers and supporters gathered outside Legacy Lodge in Lethbridge at midday Thursday, calling for what they describe as a fair collective agreement. Members of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) say the wages offered by the employer fall short of those paid to continuing care workers employed by Alberta Health Services. AUPE Vice-President Andrew Wilson says the wage gap is making it difficult to recruit and retain staff in the continuing care sector.
