Top 10 for Canada in work life balance study

Canada has made the top 10 list of countries with the best work-life balance. That is according to a new study by the company Tipalti. Our country came in at number five, with average working hours close to 1700 per year and the average salary just over $43,000. The average pension came in at $41,000. The CEO of the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce, Cyndi Bester, says in our city people are starting to become more aware of a work life balance.

“More people I think are willing to have that conversation. Whereas the generation before us- including me, you know, you had to work hard so you can play hard. Now we’re finding that no, we can get our job done properly and still enjoy our life. That isn’t the case in all industries, but I do think that is where we’re moving towards, hopefully.”

According to the study, the number one country with the best work life balance was Switzerland coming in at just under 1600 hours worked per year. The average pay in Switzerland was almost $83,000.
