Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association to bring therapy to Galt Gardens

Two Fridays a month, the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association brings in therapy horses to Galt Gardens. Next Friday they will be doing it again. The event will be a chance for residents to come out and interact with the animals around the park. The executive director for the association says it’s also an opportunity to address the needs of some of the most vulnerable here in our community.

“It’s beautiful to connect with land and animals so to give that opportunity to everyday citizens that may not have the means and the resources, that in and of itself is good enough. I mean we are happy to do just that, if it was just that, that’s great, however it is much much more. I think we all know there is a profound crisis downtown and around homelessness and addiction so this is also meant to be a form of care and it’s a creative way of addressing needs,” said Jason Shriner, Executive Director of the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association.

Next week’s free event will be taking place from 1 p.m., to 2:30 p.m., at Galt Gardens.
