Thousands of dollars collected in annual Rita’s Run Lethbridge
A recent fundraiser called Rita’s Run has collected $25,000 for the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Lethbridge chapter. The event paid tribute to Rita Giardettti, a woman who lost her battle with mental illness. Sandra Asuchak, the organizer of the run and sister of Giardetti says she was blown away by the generosity of our community.
“The generosity of the people of Lethbridge never ceases to amaze me from an individual person to an organization, to a small business to a huge corporation. We had so many people offer their help from sponsoring the refreshments to helping out with just other costs and people volunteering their time as well. It is unbelievable how generous everybody from Lethbridge is and has always been.”
The money will be used to support programs and services for those battling mental health issues at the CMHA in Lethbridge.
