Teeing off for the beauty of sports

A total of 92 golfers hit the links on Wednesday afternoon for a good cause. The KidSport Lethbridge and Taber Charity Golf Tournament reeled off some holes in one at Paradise Canyon Golf Resort to raise important funds for kids in our city and the surrounding area of southern Alberta. Genny Hunter-Barr, the board chair for the organization, says the money raised goes directly into the community.

“And it goes to children to help play sports. It’s their registration fees to help play sports. The last two years has been kind of a little tough for kids not having sports or anything like that. The need is there and we definitely need that for the kids to start playing and enjoying team sports.”

The final numbers are still being tallied, but it looks to be over $15,000 according to Hunter-Barr.
