Sundre Pro Rodeo Parade cancelled amid threats regarding Pro-Alberta float
The Sundre Pro Rodeo has announced the cancellation of their annual parade this year after tempers flared up over a reported Pro Alberta float. The Rodeo that is set to begin this week will kick off its 47th year and attract thousands of visitors to the small central Albertan community.
However, organizers and volunteers of the Rodeo say after they initially declined to enter the float that would’ve adorned flags of Alberta, they began receiving massive backlash and threats directed at their members.
The Pro Rodeo says the initial decision to decline the float was an overabundance of caution and they do not take political stances despite the ongoing narrative.
