Officials say to watch out for red flags like professing their love before meeting in person, always having an excuse why they can’t see you in person, or guilting you into sending money. The BBB says “sugar daddy” scams are on the rise, and even though free money sounds great, you’re putting yourself in a sticky situation. If you believe you’re a victim of a scam, you’re encouraged to end contact immediately and reach out to your local police department.
