Students volunteer to keep streets safe as school year begins
As students head back to the classrooms, there is an increased amount of foot and vehicle traffic surrounding school zones once again. To keep children safe, Lethbridge Police and the Alberta Motor Association are out with some students learning what it means to cross streets safely.
Student volunteers were out as part of AMA’s School Safety Patrol, helping guide pedestrians and cars on streets surrounding school zones by holding stop signs and signaling when to cross.
LPS say they are out patrolling school zones as part of their traffic enforcement initiative. The number one priority their letting drivers know is to simply pay attention.
