‘Safety driving tips during foggy conditions:’ Environment Canada
It was quite foggy earlier today across much of SW Alberta. In fact, over the last couple of days, our region has been under some thick fog. We are slowly seeing a change in weather to clear out some of that denseness. Jesse Wagar a meteorologist with Environment Canada says foggy conditions are traffic hazards and has some tips to stay safe when we are out on the roads.
“We do recommend that you are turning your lights on, not relying on your daytime running lights, so that people behind you can see you. Leaving enough space, obviously, between you and the vehicle in front of you. And then if it is to the point where the visibility is so low that you can’t see safely front of you, we do recommend that you postpone all non essential travel until the conditions improve.”
Environment Canada says conditions across much of SW Alberta should improve throughout the week.
