RibFest underway in Lethbridge
The amazing aroma of ribs is back in Lethbridge.
The 2023 Rotary RibFest is being hosted in the Enmax Centre parking lot this weekend.
There will be live music, a beer garden, and of course, incredible ribs.
Organizers with the event told us they are expecting close to 25,000 people to head to RibFest throughout the weekend.
“Friday kickoff is- I mean, we just started this thing. And so we’re starting to see the crowd slowly kind of filter in. Tonight we’ll see a lot bigger crowds. Tomorrow will be busy all day long. And then Sunday we get busy really quick and they kind of taper off. But we’re going to see a lot of people I think. We’ve got some great weather. They were threatening some rain this weekend, but I think we’re going to duck the rain and have some not the hot temperatures, but just some nice days ahead of us. So we’ve got six tents set up in the beer garden for shade. Lots of shade, right? Free parking, free entry. Come on down,” says the chairman of RibFest, Nick Nicolacopoulos.
The funds from this year’s event will help Ukrainian evacuees settle here in Lethbridge.
Items that will be bought include clothing, housing and essential items to help Ukrainians start a new life in the city.
