Radio-A-Thon brings in over $255,000
The final numbers are in for the 13th annual Care From the Heart Radio-A-Thon that took place last week. A grand total of over $255,000 was raised for the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation to distribute out to the greatest needs of the Lethbridge hospital. The goal was $250,000 for the initiative.
The funds will go toward medical equipment and training that they would otherwise not be able to afford. Allan Bartolcic, the executive director of the foundation told us the event was a huge success.
“We’re very excited to surpass. It really shows our community support, sponsors, corporations, I mean, just a tremendous amount of support that we’ve received, corporate, local funding, local businesses. It was just absolutely an amazing day. And we really look at it from the patient experience as they enter the hospital, sort of the needs, be it if you have to come into emergency, diagnostics and what have you and whatever products and services that the foundation can provide and support in the areas and the greatest needs of the hospital.”
The annual event features local radio stations who chat with doctors, nurses, and admin staff from the hospital to talk about the important work they do on a daily basis.
