Poppy flag raised at Lethbridge City Hall

The newly elected mayor of Lethbridge, Blaine Hyggen, was on hand at City Hall Thursday morning along with veterans, LPS, and city councillors of our city to declare Veteran’s Week from November 4th to 11th. A poppy flag was also raised today in honour of the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice. The President of the Lethbridge Legion, Michael Cormican, says the poppy flag symbolizes the honour and respect for veterans who laid down their lives for our country.

During the week, 4th Avenue between 9th and 11th Street will be temporarily renamed Veteran Avenue.
