Peter Gabriel gives his blessing for “New Blood”

A dance production based on the life of a residential school survivor is coming to Lethbridge on Friday evening. The show also has the blessing of the former singer of Genesis, Peter Gabriel, to incorporate a few of his songs. BCN’s Micah Quinn sat down with staff from the production of New Blood to hear about the special evening.

Deanne Bertsch, the director of New Blood says the production tells the story of Chief Vincent Yellow Old Woman.

Famous singer-songwriter Peter Gabriel sent in a video a few years ago giving his blessing to Bertsch to use songs from his album New Blood for the production. Gabriel said he was honoured to have a special part in the show.

New Blood will be playing at Casa on Friday evening at 7pm.
