Operation Red Nose cancels Safe Ride Services in Alberta for 2021

Operation Red Nose will not be held in Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba this year. The reason? High COVID-19 numbers. Operation Red Nose is a non-profit group that promotes responsible behaviour to prevent impaired driving by providing a volunteer chauffeur service during the Christmas holidays.

Marie-Chantal Fortin, with Operation Red Nose, says each community was able to give feedback as to whether they should offer the free safe rides or not, with a large majority wanting to wait one more year.

Operation Red Nose says the safety of its volunteers and clients is its top priority.
