Oktoberfest YQL celebrates 10 years

Festival Square is taking on a bit of a Bavarian flavour this weekend. Oktoberfest YQL kicked off Thursday evening and continues through until Saturday at the downtown Lethbridge location.

The annual event is celebrating its 10th year in Lethbridge and organizers are thrilled with the unseasonably warm weather. As the name suggests, most people would expect to see Oktoberfest take place in October, but event director Johnny Pogo says there are good reasons to hold the event now.

About 500 people per day usually take in Oktoberfest YQL but the warm weather could drive up those numbers.
